Flush Fn

The Flush command is used to discard serial data for a selected port. The Port

Select command (

) is used to select the serial port regardless of addressing mode in

use. Dat a waiting to be read over the IEEE b us, transmitted out the serial port, or

both, may be flushed.

Flush serial input data.

Flush serial output data.

Flush both serial input and output data.

Return last F command executed.

Example 1: Flush serial input data for port 1 using dual primary addressing mode.

reset the Serial488/4

select port 1 as the current port

flush serial input data

Example 2: Flush serial output data for port 2 using secondary addressing mode.

reset the Serial488/4

select port 2 as the current port
